The masquerade ball

I just woke up from the Labyrinth masquerade ball. That was quite a dream.

It was so surreal then lucid then I woke up all – ! –

I was somewhere “normal” with a friend hanging out, then people were coming in and out prepping for a dinner, then I was in some hall with a bunch of these girls and they were in these huge gowns (So fluffy!) ,and all the creatures and all the people, there was no goblin king but they were afraid of some kind of evil to the west and left the hall, and I rushed right over because I wanted to say “hi!” I apparently lack a sense of fear in my dreams. There were three figures standing looking at me like I was crazy and the one to the right had this deep magenta and black velvety cape I was so into the fabric, and he had goblin king hair only black, it was like 80’s hair you know, and his face, he looked like one of those goth models from the Netherlands you see circulating on facebook with those icy vampire contacts. He grabbed my right hand and placed it over his arm, and we walked the hall to the event and everything was chill and people weren’t worried about getting killed and I ran around the place feeling like a debutante looking at all the people and cool stuff but I kept feeling like I forgot something. And when scary but not scary not goblin king person found me I saw my friend in the distance and that’s what I’d forgotten. I felt he gave me the dream so I wanted to share the adventure with him, but I never reached him before waking up since the halls and stairs went everywhere.

Someday we’ll meet

I dream of you but I thought I already said my goodbyes, I’m forgetting your voice but still remember your eyes. Am I in your dream, or are you in mine? We only meet in some nonexistent space, in some nonexistent time. I’m not sure who’s imagining the other, and I’m wondering if one of us will disappear. When are experiences fake and when are they real? I’m awake while dreaming, I’m dead while alive.

Who are you?

I jacked his seat at lunch to sit with our friends, so when he came back he bumped my hip when sitting down next to me and we were shoulder to shoulder close on the bench. Some rl friends made appearances. Later I brought him to the Chinese Cultural Center, it was huge and many stories high, very different from real life and like something from a movie. I remember some other bits and cool places but it’s fuzzy. Friendly, awkward, weird sense of nostalgia, awkward and awesome when inappropriately close but cautious, sometimes not sure if flirting or trying to get a response (like Archer calling Lana an idiot). All the feels from someone I’d never met, thanks brain!
